Why are none of my slideshow showing up?

The most common reseason for this is having the wrong sharing settings on your slideshow. The slideshow needs to shared with anyone with link. There is more information on setting up your slideshow here.

Why is my slideshow so small?

Make sure the slide resolution is set to 3840x2160 pixels. You can do this by selecting File from the Menu bar. There is more information on setting up your slideshow correctly here.

Does Simple Signage support slide transitions or animations?

Simple Signage does support video playback in which you can have your own transitions and animations. However, in order to keep Simple Signage as simple as possible, we do not support transitions or animations on slides directly. Slides without videos embedded are presented statically.

Can I show the Youtube videos in my Slideshow on Simple Signage?

Simple Signage will play videos from your Google Drive which you have inserted into your slideshow. Due to Youtube's Terms of Service, we cannot display Youtube videos inserted into slideshows. Any slides with Youtube videos will display as an static slide with an image of the Youtube video. The same is true if your video is not shared with anyone with the link.

Why did my video stop working?

Double check that the video share settings haven't changed and that it is still shared with anyone with the link.

We have also discovered that having your slideshows refresh rate set too low may cause Google to consider your access to any video files suspicious activity as refresh will cause Simple Signage to also redownload any video files. Doing so every minute or even multiple times a minute will appear as suspicious traffic to Google. If this happens, you can either visit the URL for the video in a browser or just wait for the Google to unblock the URL and raise your refresh rate. We recommend keeping your refresh rate at the highest value workable for your institution to avoid unnecessary network traffic and resource use.

Why is Simple Signage not updating automatically?

Apps in Single App Mode won't update automatically.

When a new update is available, we recommend removing the Apple TVs from Single App Mode and push out an update manually.
